DVS now offers their DVS-SAN with 8-Gbit Fibre Channel technology. This new central storage standard from DVS doubles the data rates and increases the cost-effectiveness. Thanks to the open design of the DVS-SAN, you can directly access film and video data on the DVS-SAN from all connected clients, without the need for special transfer software.

Data rates and formats
No matter which format you or your customers require – the DVS-SAN can handle them all: DPX, TIFF, Cineon, QuickTime, JP2, JPC, MXF, WAV, etc. Of course, the same is true for the wide variety of data rates: You would like to work in real time with several uncompressed 4K streams in 10/12/16-bit parallel RGB 4:4:4? The DVS-SAN enables you to do just that, in levels scalable from 300 MB/s to 5 GB/s. Thanks to the DVS-SAN's modular architecture, additional storage clusters can be implemented easily for even higher data rates and a larger number of parallel video streams. Naturally, DVS storage systems are optimized to provide these data rates continuously, not just in short peaks.
Spycer® data manager as a supporting application
Your projects are increasing in size, and you need to organize, edit, save and manage millions of metadata per frame, sequence or project? When used with DVS's Spycer® data management system, another benefit of the DVS-SAN becomes apparent: With high-speed copying and a defragmentation utility developed specifically for working with video, film and CG material, the DVS-SAN effortlessly exceeds industry-standard performance limits. In the form of headers, meta data is available for every frame and can e.g. be read and edited in a user-friendly way like a DPX file. Every Spycer® user may utilize these data for browsing and searching. In conjunction with Spycer®, the DVS-SAN provides optimum use of your equipment resources and presents a perfectly organized view of all storage contents and the clients in the SpycerNet. Access your DVS-SAN with a user-friendly interface without having to resort to command line tools.

DVS-SAN enables multiple workstations to access the stored material simultaneously. Bandwidth-intensive data streams can be accessed in parallel – and in real time. It is even possible to process the data while the capturing process is still going on.
