IBC 2009: CLIPSTER® R3D, 3D DCP and 3G
At booth 7.E21, DVS launches its latest solutions. CLIPSTER’s 3rd Generation enables 3D DCI Mastering in the third dimension. Real-time RED™ workflows play another key role in CLIPSTER®. With its 3 Gigabit SDI, CLIPSTER® once again leads the pack.

Hanover/Amsterdam. Visitors to the DVS booth will experience the real-time processing of RED™ data with the third generation of CLIPSTER®. The integrated hardware enables decoding and debayering of both RED™ RAW as well as other RAW formats up to full quality 4K in 12 bit RGB mode. All of CLIPSTER’s real-time effects can be used up to 4K. The DI workstation generates digital deliverables in high speed, enables confoming of RED™ data and provides complete camera parameter settings for adjustment at any time.
CLIPSTER®, the DVS flagship, makes DCI Mastering in the third dimension a breeze. 3D projects as specified by the DCI are processed in CLIPSTER®, by merging left eye and right eye image data together and creating a stereoscopic video track in the timeline that can be edited as regular video material. CLIPSTER® also has the ability to create 3D DCPs in high speed.
Another new feature for DCI is CLIPSTER‘s enhancement for easy subtitling. Without a player or projector, users gain instant quality control; subtitles are emulated in the DCP and presented immediately. Viewing the subtitles right away is a huge time-saver granting users the ability to check the DCP’s synchronization and accuracy. Moreover, the subtitles can be arranged in one track.
CLIPSTER‘s extensive feature set includes high-speed 3 Gb/s SDI output. Users can play out and record 1080p material through a single-link signal, eliminating the need for an additional cable. The DI workstation is capable of high-speed batch exporting of common compressed codecs such as Avid DNxHD®.
